EZZAL App Helps Moroccan Businesses with Emergency Transportation Needs

29 Apr 2023

The Moroccan-based mobile application, EZZAL, was launched in February 2021 and has been gaining traction as a transportation service provider for businesses and individuals. The app was founded by Mohamed Badr, who originally intended to connect transportation services for items such as furniture in his home country of Egypt. However, due to economic conditions and additional fees imposed by authorities, he decided to launch the business in Morocco instead. EZZAL provides a platform that links vehicle owners with those in need of transportation services, including manufacturers transporting goods in emergency cases and startups without the budget for cargo vans. The app has already seen strong uptake from various companies in the sugar and building materials sectors and has secured several grants and equity funding from the Maroc Numeric Fund and 212 Founders. The company plans to expand its services to North Africa and the Middle East but has no plans to launch in Egypt.

Despite facing initial challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, EZZAL has managed to implement its services successfully in all Moroccan cities. Badr and his team plan to expand into other markets, including neighboring countries such as Spain, Gibraltar, Portugal, Mauritania, and Senegal. EZZAL has been successful in filling a gap in the transportation industry by connecting cargo vans and truck owners with customers on a daily basis. The app has proved to be particularly useful for businesses that require transportation services in emergency cases.
