Liquid C2, a company of pan-African technology conglomerate Cassava Technologies, has opened the Zambia Cyber Security Fusion Center (CSFC) in Lusaka.

Government research in Gambia shows there were over 10 million cyberattacks against citizens and businesses in 2021. This includes mobile money reverse scams, social media account hijacking,  fake product promotions, and investment schemes. Felix Mutati, Zambia's Minister of Technology and Science, announced in 2022 that increasing cybercrime was the country's biggest threat.

From the company’s statement, The center will support Liquid C2's efforts to give Zambian customers access to real-time intelligence-driven alerts and advisory services, enabling timely mitigation of potential threats.

CEO of Liquid Intelligent Technologies in Zambia, Mark Townsend said in a statement that the launch of its third Cyber Security Fusion Center in Zambia is crucial to safeguarding the country's digital economy. The addition of the Cybersecurity Fusion Center to the nation's cybersecurity infrastructure will strengthen the ability to protect vital small businesses from the increasing threat of cybercrime. This is due to its focus on driving growth in the small-scale business sector. “The Centre will offer comprehensive cyber security services, including threat intelligence, detection, and incident response, customized to meet the requirements of businesses in Zambia. By providing these services, Liquid C2 aims to enable businesses of all sizes to concentrate on their growth without worrying about the escalating cybersecurity risks.“

The center will also provide cybersecurity services such as threat intelligence, detection, and incident response tailored to the needs of Zambian businesses. By providing these services, Liquid C2 aims to enable businesses of all sizes to focus on growth without worrying about heightened cybersecurity risks.

The CSFC in Zambia is the third in the matrix of security centers Liquid C2 has launched in Africa, after South Africa and Kenya. The Centers are designed to better understand the cyber threats customers face in real-time.
