South African AI Startup NOSIBLE Secures $1 Million in Pre-Seed Funding

04 Apr 2025

South African AI startup NOSIBLE has successfully raised US$1 million in pre-seed funding to enhance its growth marketing initiatives, scale its sales operations, and accelerate its go-to-market strategy.

Founded in 2020 by Stuart Reid, NOSIBLE is rapidly emerging as a key player in the AI landscape, offering two core products designed to revolutionize asset management. The startup's powerful search engine API provides businesses with real-time and historical data insights. Additionally, nosible.ai is a consumer-facing platform featuring hyperspecialized AI agents that simplify various asset management tasks.

NOSIBLE aims to become the leading AI provider for asset managers, with a solution that is uniquely optimized for disk-based operations. The platform supports native pre-filtering, compression, streaming, bulk querying, and real-time hyperparameter tuning, making it 100 times more cost-effective than current state-of-the-art large-scale search solutions. By redefining search capabilities, NOSIBLE unlocks smarter AI agents equipped to perform 100 times more effective searches.

The pre-seed funding round was led by Atlantica Ventures, with additional strategic investments from existing customers. The funds will enable NOSIBLE to strengthen its growth marketing efforts, expand its sales capabilities, and expedite its market entry.

"Our discovery changes the AI equation," said Stuart Reid, founder and CEO of NOSIBLE. "Our index operates at 1/100th the cost of current methods and uniquely supports real-time hyperparameter tuning, allowing it to dynamically adapt to more complex searches—similar to how OpenAI pioneered the use of test-time compute."

Ik Kanu, founding partner at Atlantica Ventures, expressed enthusiasm for the investment, highlighting the specialized expertise of the NOSIBLE team. "We recognized a small, focused team that possesses deep knowledge in quantitative finance, machine learning, and computer science," he said. "They are building their own infrastructure to power a low-cost, agentic platform with intelligent workflows."

Kanu further emphasized that this unique blend of finance and technology expertise enables NOSIBLE to deliver highly specialized value to asset managers of all sizes with impressive capital efficiency. "It's exactly the kind of focused innovation we look for," he added.

With this funding, NOSIBLE is poised to solidify its position in the AI market and further its mission to innovate asset management through advanced technology.
