Talabat Acquires Instashop in $32 Million Deal to Revolutionize Online Delivery in MENA

Talabat, a leading online ordering and delivery platform in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, has acquired 100% of Instashop from Delivery Hero SE in a strategic move to strengthen its grocery and retail offerings and transform the online delivery landscape.
The acquisition, effective February 25, 2025, was fully funded through Talabat's internal cash reserves with a total value of USD 32 million. Instashop will continue to operate as an independent brand within Talabat's grocery and retail vertical, leveraging synergies to enhance operations and expand its partner network across the MENA region.
"This partnership will enable us to leverage Talabat's extensive network and operational expertise, allowing us to enhance our service delivery and continue our mission of providing exceptional convenience to our customers," said Nikola Cabarkapa, Chief Executive Officer of Instashop.
This acquisition strengthens Talabat's grocery and retail offerings and expands its partner network across MENA. By bringing Instashop under its umbrella, Talabat aims to unlock net growth potential through joint business planning, collaboration, and shared insights.

The integration of Instashop will enable cross-listing opportunities for partners, allowing them to broaden their reach and tap into a wider customer base. Talabat also aims to optimize operations through fleet synergies and shared resources, as well as improve product and technology integration to create a more seamless and efficient delivery experience.
