17 Jun 2024

TruQ emerged as the champion, winning a big prize of ₦2.5 million. This was the first-ever TC Battlefield event, where local startups got to show their creative ideas to a group of important judges and an audience from around the world.

TruQ is a company that helps make shipping and deliveries easier. They won the top prize in this competition. This is a very important win for them, as it will help them get more resources to make their business even better. They beat eight other startup companies to get this prize.

Some important people who know a lot about businesses and investing (like Nela Ekpenyong, Hope Ditlhakanyane, Uwem Uwemakpan, and Gloria Okorie) watched and judged the competition. They liked what TruQ was doing to improve the delivery and logistics industries.

Williams Fatayo, the CEO of truQ, said that their journey has been about understanding the market and solving problems in the delivery business. Since they started, they have helped with over 300,000 deliveries and 25,000 trips. They have also received support from three special programs that help new companies grow.

Jamit is another company that did well in the competition. They are like a special place for people who make podcasts, which are like radio shows on the internet. They help African podcasters create their shows and connect with listeners. They didn't win the top prize, but they still got ₦1.5 million for their great work.

Jamit started in 2018 and has been growing ever since. They have made lots of podcasts with thousands of episodes. They also create different kinds of audio content to share different stories.

The TC Battlefield competition was a big deal for both TruQ and Jamit. It shows how Nigerian startups can be very creative and successful. As these companies continue to grow, they'll make a bigger impact in their industries.
