17 Jun 2024

Nokia Nigeria is set to open a brand new 5G/4G testing facility that will utilize its latest radio and transmission technologies. This lab will double as a training ground for young Nigerians at the Nigerian Communications Commission's (NCC) Digital Parks.

The creation of this facility stems from an important agreement signed by leaders in Nigeria's tech and communication sectors, including Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, and representatives from Nokia Solutions and Networks Nigeria. This collaboration is expected to significantly improve Nigeria's digital infrastructure and represents a major step forward in efforts to enhance the skills and knowledge of Nigerian citizens, aligning perfectly with the NCC's vision for the future.

Further emphasizing its commitment to digital development, Nokia Nigeria has announced the launch of the Entrepreneur Learning Programme, an ambitious educational initiative aimed at empowering 200 Nigerian students from diverse regions across the country. This program will provide them with top-tier vocational training, equipping them with the skills necessary to thrive in the ever-evolving global digital landscape.

By building this state-of-the-art lab and launching a comprehensive learning program, Nokia Nigeria demonstrates its dedication to contributing to Nigeria's digital transformation and nurturing the next generation of Nigerian tech innovators.
