The Tech Impact Awards 2025, created by community‑driven media
platform The Top Voices, have
concluded, spotlighting three outstanding individuals whose public, verifiable
work is accelerating progress across Africa’s technology ecosystem. Designed as
a fully remote, free‑to‑enter programme, the Awards honour founders, engineers,
educators, writers, and community leaders who make a real‑world difference
through innovation, education, and open knowledge‑sharing.
From
Launch to Selection
When applications opened
earlier this year, The Top Voices invited contributions in three core
categories that underpin a thriving tech landscape:
1.
Community
Builders & Educators – catalysts who grow talent and
networks
2.
Start‑ups & Product Development – innovators solving tangible
problems
3.
Thought
Leadership & Public Knowledge – voices making tech ideas
accessible
Submissions were assessed
by a diverse judging panel that included Eunice Allela
(Google via Algomarketing), Elizabeth Boluwatife Rotimi
(Techies on LinkedIn), Keshni Morar (Jozi Angels), Jonathan Ruwanika
(Future Africa), Willy Nsabiyumva (African Management
Institute) and other ecosystem experts.
“This Award is about
using visibility not as a headline, but as a tool,” says Anna Lebedeva, co‑founder of
The Top Voices. “We’ve seen how much talent goes unnoticed. Shining a
light on these efforts gives more builders the encouragement to keep going and
take their careers to the next level.”

Why
These Awards Matter
Africa’s tech sector is
one of the world’s fastest‑growing, but its momentum depends on individuals who
teach, build, and
share openly. The Tech Impact Awards
elevate those voices, ensuring
their work reaches founders, product leaders, VCs, and accelerators worldwide
through The Top Voices’ website, newsletter, YouTube
channel, and LinkedIn community.
Whether or not they took
home a trophy, every applicant contributed to a stronger, more inclusive tech
ecosystem. The 2025 Awards remind us that progress is powered by people who put
community first and impact at the centre of their craft.
