Village Capital is excited to announce the opening of applications for the Greentech Africa Program 2025, an investment-readiness accelerator designed to support innovative startups across Africa. This year, the program will focus on identifying 10-15 startups in Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, and South Africa that are dedicated to developing sustainable solutions for pressing environmental challenges.
Program Overview
The Future of Sustainability initiative aims to foster innovation in five critical thematic areas:
• Agtech and Food Security
• Biodiversity Protection
• Circular and Regenerative Economy
• Climatetech and Cleantech
• Water, Sanitation, and Health
Eligibility Criteria
To participate in the Greentech Africa Program 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Legally incorporated as a for-profit entity in at least one of the eligible countries: Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, or South Africa.
• Develop a market-based tech solution that addresses one or more of the identified thematic challenges.
• Comply with local fiscal and business regulations.
• Have at least one full-time founder residing in one of the eligible countries.
• Have a minimum viable product (MVP) and have secured less than USD 1 million in equity funding.
• Demonstrate meaningful validation from customers or business partners, which may include revenue, successful pilot studies, user engagement, or strategic partnerships.
